Eldurlifsin Grimboethberi

A mighty and powerful Jotunn who has some Aesir, and Vanir blood, he has an amazing connection to the element of fire in a way rarely seen. His power is more similar to a phoenix than any other, and he extends fire down his body and his choice of weapons, using blasts of flame to launch through the air, and gaining more power the more fire is in an area. He can hone, control, and focus the flames to heal, as well as cleanse and provide intense and powerful damage. More focused on close range fighting, he can extend his flames between himself and a weapon as it is thrown, seeming to create almost a chain out of the flame that he can pull back returning the weapon to his hands. This gives him a mid range ability. None of this compares to the fact though that, if killed, he will return to life if his body encounters flames. He favors the axe as a weapon, and carries with him a large bearded axe and several throwing ones.
 
He discovered his nature after his first death, one of many. He had fought well, but had failed in his war, and his village was killed by a tribe of Aesir in Jotunheim who had settled there and who decided peaceful coexistence was no longer within their charter. He was so valiant in battle the chief of that Aesir group decided to honor him by burning his body, at which point he came back alive to slaughter his foes, reinvigorated, and with a new found level of power.
 
He's massively strong and intense, able to shrug off most spell effects, shatter bindings, or just walk through damage letting his flames spiral like an inferno upward healing him. He's lived and fought a long time, and seeks to aid others by becoming a protective force, a guardian for this life. At the end of this life, his keepers life, he will be not born again in flame as he will then pass into his next life, to become a new person, to go on the new adventure. He's someone who forms strong and deep bonds with those he's around, and while his demeanor is rough, he makes friends easily because of his kind heart and deep concern for those he is near.
 
Because of his unique power, he has been part of many tribes, but has outlived them. His age regresses to his mid twenties each time his body is encased in fire to its highest ferocity, which is powerful enough to kill him. Many times he has waited for death, ready to die as an old man part of a tribe and be laid to rest buried for eternity. Then, someone will come with ill intent, and he will rise again, choosing to die and be reborn in flame to save the tribe. Those times he has nearly let death take him, he was not morose, but ready for the next adventure, yet he could not die knowing he had one final duty to perform. He seeks then a contract of the final duty, to be the guardian for one person, and all those close to them, to be steel against steel for them.
 
With long flowing red hair and beard, he is a fearsome sight of a warrior, and even without his flame powers he would be massively powerful. With the flames, his power can continue to grow as the fire rages more intensely. He will not accept any death until the natural death of whoever he is bonded with, and will return to protect them if he is killed while they live. When he crosses from this life, he may choose to reincarnate as their friend in the next life if they reincarnate, or may reincarnate as a guardian spirit for them of a different nature, this would be decided after death, and with mutual agreement of the two souls.
