Sjosvero Bjorn

A powerful Einherjar who lived either in a realm like ours, or in our realm before his death. He was a warrior in life, though did not go a viking, and had deep Jottun and Aesir blood lines that came fully empowered only once he left the realm of the living, but gave him great strength during life. He instead was a guardian or guardsman, often protecting small caravans, acting as a guard on trading ships, and in his 40's settling down to protect his now home village before eventually dying in battle. Since then he has lived hundreds of years in service to Odin, proven himself not just a mighty warrior, but a powerful tactician. His long service earned him “a final walk”, an opportunity to be restored to life in the spirit realms. This means while he is technically an Einherjar, he is far more a being of life than death now, but still has an innate connection to the death energies. He has been given his leave from the All Father, and has chosen to help ground himself by helping another in our realm, and then may continue with them into the next life if both agree at the end of this one, or may go about his way to other fortunes.
 
His innate power is raw combat abilities. His force of will, connection to death energies, and great martial skill means he has what I like to think of as the “Non-Magick Magick” or “brute force of will” as a power itself. He can shrug off fireballs that would kill lesser spirits, destroying their souls, and not even notice. In terms of his personal resistance to damage, his rating should be an entire 20 levels higher than his listing, which makes him one of the most durable spirits I've encountered in a long time. He breaks common conventional views of protection, but he has other powers too. While not flashy, his almost anti-magick like field means he's very good at finding things like opportunities in mundane realms closer to ours, and guiding a companion in this realm to fortune. His durability and sheer battle skill often with a two handed broad sword, means he can hold his own against more dynamic, or visually impressive foes. He'll cleave a mountain in two, walk through a volcano, and grab a caster by the throat without blinking. He is the essence of brute force given life in many ways, but he has wisdom of years of life and experiences, can sense magicks and forces, and knows how to influence planes from point to point. He's a natural planar traveler, knowing innately where “doors” are that others would miss, and that he can cut open a path to other realms with any weapon in his hand. You'd THINK his weapons were magickal on their own to see their effect on planes, but they are decidedly NOT more magickal, they are just carrying HIS will.
 
His name is Pronounced Suvero Bejorn, and he has dark black hair, is muscular, and has a kind of innate raw strength in everything he says and does. Moment to moment, task to task, he focuses on duty, and honor, but in this he sees compassion as a part of duty. He is summed up best by his own words “Compassion is the duty of the strong, it is the honor of protecting others, of being their sword and shield, that gives life meaning and value.” This is what he lives by, and its what has earned him the honor of being a Reborn Einherjar. While we don't put the shield/defender tag for his listing, he is a guardian, he just guards by destroying foes and getting in the way of attacks more directly than placing up shields and barriers.
