He is an older Fae man, and a student of the world. Part philosopher, part mystic, he is an advisor of great benefit in all situations. He's lived a long time, and is ancient by our measure of time, but considers himself young at heart. He comes from a long line of martial masters, specifically those who focused on the use of pole arms and fighting staves. Because of his lineage he is a competent fighter when needed, but this is not his primary focus by any measure. Instead, he is, by all measure a guide, an advisor, the guy to help you find the road when no one else can. He takes great joy and pride in being this, and augments that with his magickal knowledge and mystical expertise to make himself an invaluable ally.
 
He relaxes by smoking a pipe filled with non-toxic and non-hallucinogenic herbs, often creating a smell in a room that is almost like incense being burned. He also spends a good bit of time in meditation, but when not doing these things he spends time socializing and telling stories from his youth, and from others he has met during his long years to anyone who will listen. The stories almost always have some point or moral, and often help his allies find resolutions to their internal problems.
