Disir

Unique female spirits that are innately connected to the powers of fate. The Disir are primarily protective spirits, all Disir are similar to the Norns in many ways, with a strong connection to fate itself, and able to wield the powers of fate to a degree. As protectors, they redirect the potential of an attack, the essence of danger, and other such things away from those they are protecting. While all beings vary in terms of personality, abilities, and skills, Disir without fail always have a strong connection to fate. In those more focused on the warrior arts and the art of war, they retain a kind of guided fate with all they do in battle allowing them to pull off amazing acts of combat that would seem to rely as much on luck as skill. Those more mystically or scholarly focused hone fate into every spell. Disir tend toward mysticism heavily, but many warriors do exist. Their communities are often more Tribal, and Disir seem to be a kind of ascended woman, so may have been wise women in a former life, or someone who ascended to divinity at the time of, or just before their death in a physical body. This huge diversity in origins and nature means they are just as diverse in personality, though Disir almost always have a “long” view of the world, time, and history as befits a being of fate.
