Husvaettir (House Spirits)

With long pointed ears, and often wearing bright colored clothing, or choosing a clothing that fits into the colors of a home they are often mistaken for a type of Elf, and may share a deeper heritage with various types of Elves given their nature and properties. Fantastic keepers of the home, they encourage a cleansing energy within a home, and have a dedication to the keeping of safety, serenity, happiness, joy, and other positive energies in a home. They encourage order and cleaning within a home, but aren’t pushy, and focus more on the energetic cleaning of a home to promote the act of keeping the home clean. As guardians they are dedicated, protecting the home with powerful defenses. Husvaettir are innately magickal, and while many study magick on a deeper level or some subset of it, many also have an innate talent that they have refined more through use than study or learning. Their innate connection to magick, the concept of home, and peaceful nature makes them a good fit for for roles of home protectors, cleansers, and even potent healers by promoting clean and pure energies in a home or space. In their own communities, they tend to be very communal, dedicated, and compassionate. They are travelers by nature, seeking a home they can become a part of, and drawn to this by some eternal compulsion, which makes them amazingly loyal for such a social being. To be clear, they are loyal to “The Master of the Home” not just the home itself, and will travel with those who move, but should be given if possible some time to say goodbye to the land they have cultivated. They are often fantastic for working with local land spirits, as a Husvaettir will seek true harmony and peace, not just imposition and force, with the local home into the natural area.
