Oni

Found within the pages of Japanese Lore and Mythology for reference, Oni are powerful, brutish, intimidating, muscular, and powerful creatures who often have horns, glowing eyes, and skin that is a color outside the human range of skin tones. While humanoid, these fearsome beings are more related to demons, and often have a strong connection to primal elemental forces like fire, storms, lightning, or other destructive primal forces. Oni stand taller on average than humans, generally seven feet or high, though some are smaller. They are beings of intense strength, and tend to have a more brutal mentality. Because of this natural brutal nature, they are excellent warriors and guardians. Their societies come in many forms, from tribes to kingdoms. Those that seek to work with humans tend to be more altruistic, or see working with a human as an opportunity to take on new challenges they couldn’t find in their home realms.
