Selkies

Often seen more in Scottish mythology, Selkies are shape shifters who most often can appear in the form of a seal, but can also take human form. Their shape shifting ability means they have an adaptable mind, and they are often described as beautiful, graceful, wise, and intelligent not just in intellect but in emotion as well. They almost always have strong connections to the element of water, and deep connections to life force energies, and other nature energies. Selkies often find themselves drawn to mystical arts, and work forms of magick either from their culture, or from cultures they have journeyed to and worked with. This means Selkies while having strong water, life, and nature energies may possess connections to other elements, or abilities with other forces unexpected initially. Their communities are things of harmony, and their Kingdoms are utopias. Those that work with humans tend to be not only compassionate, seeking to aid a human in their day to day life, but also supportive. They are diverse emotional beings, with diverse attitudes and senses of self, but all of them have a sense of harmony with their environment, and express that harmony in who they are moment to moment without fail.
