Sjovaettir (Sea Spirits)

Coming from realms of great seas, connected to the seas of our world and other material planes, and always flowing from and back to the sea in some way the Sjovaettir are often animistic forms of water, sea, or ocean currents. This means they can be humanoid, animal, or less singular formed, and often can change their form as water does. The Ocean is vast and powerful, with its strength being not in subtlety but in brute force, and so Sjovaettir tend toward being less subtle with their use of power, though in their guidance they tend to be amazingly subtle. Just as the sea is navigated by the stars, it is not uncommon for Sjovaettir to also share some connection to the stars, and astrology as a force. While they tend to like to display power in large displays, their moods tend to shift from gentle, to rougher, just as the seas do. Of course each Sjovaettir is unique, and an individual so the generalities often have exceptions. Coming from realms of ocean and sea, they seek out oceans in material realms to connect with most often. Those who wish to work with a human in our prime material realm, are seeking to gain something in the experience of understanding our realm and experience of permanence, vs their almost immortal impermanence. They bring great power and wisdom, but also seek to understand us better, and the simple act of working with them can often be of great value. They often prefer pure water offerings of some kind, and sea water as an offering is a valued treat.
